Cineo announces the HSX- a powerful colour-tunable soft source light
NEWS POSTED ON BY MATTHEW ALLARD ACS
Cineo have introduced a new color-tunable soft source light that promises to deliver the same performance and output as the companies popular HS2 Remote Phosphor fixture. Called the HSX, it is colour adjustable from 2700K-6000K, and Cineo claim it features the same beautiful color rendering and extended deep-red spectrum as their Remote Phosphor fixtures. According to the company, unlike other color-tunable sources, HSX remains consistent throughout the life of the fixture with no color shift or need for calibration.
The light has no fans, and features passive cooling, which makes it very suitable for use in quiet shooting locations. It can be dimmed from 100% to 0% with no colour shift according to Cineo. There is also DMX and RDM support, and the light allows for flicker-free operation.
The HSX looks to be another very impressive offering from Cineo. The only downside I can see is that the light is extremely heavy and may not be a very practical solution for those shooters who travel a lot. There is no indication yet of price or when the light will start shipping. Newsshooter will be sure to check out the light at NAB.
